This is the first edition of 'USB Gadget Of The Week'. Every week I want to introduce a new USB device. The Universal Serial Bus is the source of a lot of useful, funny and wacky inventions and I will show my favorites.
This week's item is the USB Human Skull Drive from USBGeek.com. Halloween is already over, but the skull design is timeless. What's inside the skull? This is an ordinary USB thumb drive with 2GB storage. As a matter of course the USB Human Skull Drive features USB 2.0 and supports Windows Vista, XP, 2000 and Mac OS. And it costs $19.
Why did I choose the USB Human Skull Drive?
I really like the special designed memory sticks. And in this case I favor the little details of the Skull Drive: the detachable jaw, the teeth and the cheek bones. And as I said before, the skull design is timeless and definitively attracts attention. Two thumb drives up!

Design memory sticks are so cool.
The only problem is they typically don't fit in a lot of USB slots.
December 6, 2008 8:45 AM
Yeah that is true.. No way I could put it on the bottom USB slot on my laptop unless it is on the edge of the table.. :) It is cool though...
December 6, 2008 4:44 PM
Nice, but it still can't beat the USB humping dog, from ThinkGeek.

I'm not fond of skulls but my nephews will surely find them cool so... where do I buy these scary usb gadgets? I hope they also do some designs like flowers (for my nieces), butterflies (for some close friends), and personalized ones like engraved names. Thank you for sharing this cool gadget. :)
December 10, 2008 7:44 AM
Thats pretty awesome. I have to agree with Yoko though. Darth would be the ultimate USB drive ;o)
December 11, 2008 4:21 AM

I love using USB flash disks. They don't take up much space in your bag. In fact, their hardly there when you carry them around. I also love the fact that you can bring files around and store them in a tiny piece of gadget. But most of all, I love them when they have wacky designs like human skull drive.

A cool usb, unfortunately I had trouble using this on my laptop and mac since their ports are lined up together with so little space, therefore the skull occupies the entire area. I use it if I'm out and not using my optical mouse :)
